200 yards is a photography experiment run by a collective group of photographers.
We start with a venue, maybe a wine bar, office lobby, or traditional gallery. Then we map a 200-yard radius with this venue as the center point. A call is sent out to photographers to explore the radius taking photos of whatever catches their eye. Each photographer then selects their best shots, up to 5, and submits them for possible inclusion in a photo exhibit held at the selected venue.
The idea behind the project is to encourage local photographers, while illuminating the merchants and little details that make each micro-neighborhood unique and give each area its character.
If you're interested in being a part of this unique, first of its kind project as a venue, send a note to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you'd like to participate as a photographer add your name to our mailing list to receive details for each new show.
